T.N.T.
line up: Tony Harnell (vocals)
Ronnie Le Tekro (guitar)
Morty Black (bass)
Ken Odlin (drums)
T.N.T. from Norway is founded in 1981. After a year the band releases their
first single "Harley Davidson", produced and pressed by themselves. In 1983
followed by their first album, that isn't exactly a smash hit, concerning songs
and production. This changes with the second album, "Knights of the New
Thunder", a record of an half hour, but full of dynamic, American oriented
smashing hardrock. The high vocals of the American singer Tony Harnell are a
good contrast to the guitarplay of Ronnie Le Tekro, obviously influenced by
Eddie Van Halen. Everybody is enthousiast about the record, but it takes three
more years before the band has benefit of it. First there are management
problems, then Tony Harnell has lost his voice for a while. The third album,
"Tell no Tales" starts, where "Knights of New Thunder" has stopped, with almost
no differences in compositions, sound and production. Again a smashing album.
They tour successfully through Europe and Ronnie Le Tekro is asked by Dee
Snider to help him with the Twisted Sister album "Love is for Suckers" ('87).
Drummer Diesel Dahl is replaced in 1988 by Ken Odlin.
